I love Chocolatier Blue. Their chocolates are not only pretty, but they taste SO good too! I first had them 1.5years ago, and I fell in love the moment I tasted them. My favorite is Palet d'or - the dark chocolate kind. I love everything from its appearance, the feeling when I get when I first bite into it, as well as the deep after taste. I'm a fan of dark chocolate rather than milk, so maybe that's why - if you're not into dark chocolate, you might want to try other ones. Espresso is also good, so is the Passion Fruit Caramel. It's definitely more expensive than ordinary confectionery you can find at supermarkets, but trust me - It's worth it. They also have a shop down at 4th street, in berkeley. I think they sell ice creams at the 4th street location - I haven't tried it, but I look forward to trying them tomorrow when I go!

These chocolates are much more refined that your typical truffle. The fruit flavors are very real and not too sweet. The chocolate is delicious, not bitter but not too rich either. My favorites are the pb&j, the passion fruit caramel, and the pallet d'or. He makes his own peanut butter and jelly! It is hands down the best peanut butter-based chocolate candy in the bay area. Also, the price is very reasonable given the exceptional quality at 1.50 per piece.

These are a bit expensive, but SO worth it. They are beautiful and taste fantastic. I have never been disappointed here. Anyone who gets them as a gift will feel special and you can give them with confidence. The chocolate is so smooth and wonderful...and yes, I do actually give these away when I buy them. Was greeted with great customer service as usual today. They also make a damned fine hot chocolate.

What they are doing is very special. The quality and originality is off the charts. In speaking with the owners it is obvious that they are passionate about what they do and it shows in these chocolates. This is a must stop for anyone that is a fan of chocolate truffles. World class.

This is hands-down the best place to get a gift box in Berkeley. The boxes that they offer have a beautiful presentation. They have all the standard chocolate varieties, but also some more exotic ones like Passion Fruit Caramel. I recommend trying the Mango Chile. It has some serious flavor. PRO-TIP: If you have kids, ask for the PB&J chocolate! Its delicious and will make any kiddo smile. Also, don't forget to try the Lychee Lavender. Such flavor!

Lovely little shin dig place making up batches of chocolate in various shapes and confectionary styles. They seem to use dark chocolate which is a signature move by those who make real chocolate. Sourced from Vietnam and other places. I happen to pop my head in and I highly suggest patronizing these people as they're a small business owned by a couple and they make very good chocolate a la dark style And are friendly to boot! No wonder everyone loves this place.

Blue's Chocolates is a small little chocolatier shop by the UC Berkeley campus that specializes in handcrafted dainty little chocolates that are perfect for a gift! They stock a variety of different flavors of chocolates which range from fruity to tea based flavors. The staff here do a great job in explaining all the flavors and size options which made the experience of purchasing a box seamless, enjoyable, and an overall pleasure. For a college student, it can come off as being quite pricey, but with little bits of sacrifices here and there, it's really not that bad. The various colors and shapes of the chocolate pieces placed evenly throughout their box is a delight to the eyes. The silky smooth chocolate that simply melts in the mouth is a delight to the tongue. Even though I personally would still prefer my 86% cacao dark chocolate, I've got to say that this chocolate is super good. Given the price and fanciness of it all, I would never buy a box for myself, but I would definitely recommend buying a box for a pleasant surprise of a gift!

I purchased some chocolates for my wife and she loved them. She enjoyed the different flavors and how beautiful the chocolates looked. I don't too much care for chocolate as it can be intense to me. But the bites that I had was really light and delicious. The flavors tasted exactly as advertised. Highly recommend

Small shop, easy to miss if you are walking, but it is a chocolate lovers paradise. I picked up two dark chocolate bars, the one from Ecuador, very deep and rich flavor. I got another one from Madagascar, looking forward to that with some tea and grapes or something.

Considering the depth of the other reviews on Chocolatier Blue I will keep this short and sweet. haha kidding... No really. Anyway.... This shop is located next to my office. I have watched it from construction to opening over the past year. Through out the process the owner Chris Blue and his wife have been extremely friendly, gracious neighbors. Chris is outside sweeping and cleaning the sidewalks in front of our building almost weekly like a true artisan shop owner. I have tasted the chocolates at various times over the past 6 months. They are wonderful. It was shocking how well the flavors they represent not only translate from their original form but also combine to make the most extraordinary flavor combination you just would not expect. And you can watch Chris making these chocolates by hand which really helps connect you to the quality of the final product.

My new obsession! I had no idea what a life changing experience I was in for walking in so innocently yesterday afternoon. I was super full from lunch across the street, saw the chocolates in the case (felt uncomfortable- surprisingly-by their foreign shine) and was literally on my heels mid spin to exit out the door when I hear the sweetest two words coming from the sales girl: "free sample?" One bite into a BANANAS FOSTER (be careful my friend spilled it all over her chin and scarf) and I was a goner. I am not a chocolate snob but now that I know what heaven tastes like, I'm never wasting time in See's again. That bananas foster was life changing. I can't wait to try all the other creative flavors! Thank you C.B., get ready to see LOTS of me!
